“Techno’s not faceless. I know everyone’s face in techno.”
Richard D. James
Following the hugely successful A Disco Pogo Tribute to Daft Punk, the series continues with the legendary electronic music artist Richard D. James, better known as Aphex Twin.
As with the Daft Punk book, A Disco Pogo Tribute To Aphex Twin was another opportunity for us to build on our long-running relationship with Richard, going back over 30 years to the early days of Jockey Slut.
Edited by Disco Pogo editor Jim Butler, this 274-page cloth-spine hardback book features interviews, essays and features from the best music journalists working today.
The cover features Wolfgang Tillmans’ iconic portrait of Aphex, which is just the tip of the iceberg of great photography from some of the best music photographers in the world, going right back to the very beginning.
This book wouldn’t have been possible without assistance and support from Warp, R&S and Rephlex, the label homes of Aphex, and Paul Nicholson, the designer of Aphex's logo, who opened up his archives to us.
Thanks also have to go to the people behind Aphex fan-site Lanner Chronicle.
